I loved what you did at our trial. To confirm what a great job you did here is a little story. After I left you, I was on the way to my car when I spotted a necklace that might work with my wedding dress. I was trying it on and looking at myself in a hand mirror on Grant Street sidewalk, when a car pulled up and a guy yelled "you look beautiful!" and then drove on - that's a pretty darn good recommendation for your work!! *Wedding Day - GENIUS! Erica is the best hair/makeup source in the city! I'm from LA, live in SF (for 13 years) and have been to all the big salons. I went to her for my wedding makeup and hair - during the trial I was impressed with her knowledge of weddings and readily applied all her free advice. During the wedding she was nothing short of magic - not only did she make me feel wonderful - which she also did for both mothers-in-law whom she beaufitied - but she made me look the best I have ever looked in my entire life. This is no joke, I looked at 44 years of age better than I have EVER looked and I have had my hair and makeup done by top salons. She made me look 20 years younger and breathtaking - just ask my new hubby!!! In fact I didn't wash my hair or face for two days because I didn't want to loose that look AND I DIDN'T - it lasted until I washed it away - even the hair stayed amazing. I knew she was good from the trial, but she was AMAZING and how she got that look to hold solid for THREE days I will never know. But you can bet she is on my speed dial for every event!! I didn't bring her a picture I just described what I wanted and she got it the first time around. Erica Carr is fabulous. I was referred to her by two different people that I know to do my wedding day makeup and hair. I was impressed at first by what a good business person Erica is. She's great at returning calls and emails and is very organized when it comes to running her business. I was also happy to learn that she does both make up and hair equally well and travels for weddings. After meeting w/her I decided to take the plunge and get hair lock extensions b/f the wedding. I'm so happy I did! I finally have the hair I always wanted and it looked exactly as I wanted it to on the day of the wedding! The best part is that I still have it and will for the foreseeable future! She is a wiz with hair and is great at creating a red-carpet look. Finally, normal girls can have celebrity hair too!
Erica also did my makeup for the wedding. After our trial, I decided I wanted a lighter application. Erica was great at listening to my concerns and providing alternative options. I recently got married and somehow found Erica Carr for my hair and makeup. I was very interested in finding one person to do both my hair and makeup and not 2 seperate people. She did an awesome job and is very cool, calm and confident. All the things I wasn't as a nervous bride. She has alot of experience and alot of ideas. I don't know how she did it, but my hair held up ALL night and didn't move an inch and it wasn't plastered down looking. I didn't want to take it down at the end of the night...I think it could have lasted 2 more days. :) I guess it's all in the pinning.

Erica did my makeup and hair for my rehearsal dinner and wedding in Napa. Both were absolutely gorgeous...people still comment on my hair the night of my rehearsal dinner! It was this sort of vintage 40's look..so cool!
But I think the best example of her attitude and professionalism comes from this story: I had initially (wrongly) hired a Napa local to do my hair on my wedding day. However, I was super unhappy with what she was doing (a nightmare for any bride on her wedding day). This woman couldnt take the pressure of having to start over...and basically walked out!!! That's when Erica stepped in, who was there to only do my makeup. I basically looked at her with tears in my eyes and she said she would take care of me! and she did! She saved the wedding day! Let me tell you a little something about Erica Carr. She is a HERO. My wedding was on Jan. 4th, the day of the "storm of the century" in San Rafael. Erica drove for hours (five? six?) through gridlocked traffic to reach the site, then waited for me for another two. She did my bridal party's hair and makeup lit by flashlight in the dark, with NO ELECTRICITY and we all looked absolutely amazing. Throughout all this, she was upbeat, classy, supportive, and professional. Her fortitude, perseverance, and skills were key factors in creating an, ultimately, very successful wedding (once the power came back on). I also see her regularly at the salon, and she is equally adept at creating gorgeous makeup and hair with all the accoutrements of modern living, such as power and heat. I had appointments with two other stylists for a trial run about 3 months before my wedding and canceled them after my first meeting with Erica. I was extremely impressed with her talent and professionalism. I arrived for the trial run with a photo of my gown, my veil and jewelry, and some photos from the Internet of hair and makeup that I liked. I felt confused about the direction that I wanted to go. Erica was able to interpret all of this and came up with a "style" for me and my wedding party that was perfect! I left that appointment feeling like I was in good hands, and I didn't need to worry about anything!
The day of the wedding Erica arrived on time and ready to go. She was cool and calm, and we all enjoyed getting ready for my big day. My groom was blown away! I felt like a princess! I would highly recommend her for any special event.

Erica is absolutely wonderful and a delight to work with. I recently got married and by luck found Erica. I set up the trial/consultation for hair and makeup with her. All I had to do was show her my dresses and she knew instantly what hair style and makeup would be perfect. When she did the trial hair & makeup I was absolutely blown away. I could not recognize myself, I LOOKED GORGEOUS !!! (that day I wasn't modest to say it either). Not that I looked like someone else, I looked like myself, just a lot prettier.
For the wedding and the reception I wore traditional Indian outfits (lehnga/choli) and I was at a loss as to how to drape the scarf (duppatta), but Erica stepped in again and fixed everything in a few seconds. She also helped with all the traditional jewelry pieces and hair pieces etc. So if any desi brides out there are looking for someone for hair and makeup, Erica is the best. The hair styles for both days were a huge success; I danced all night and not a single strand moved. Since I normally don't wear any makeup, my biggest concern was that I didn't want to look like a typical Indian bride with lots of makeup plastered on and look fake. Erica did such a great job, that not only I looked absolutely glamorous and stunning (I know, I know, but I can't help it, I just looked that good!!) I didn't feel anything on my face and I was able to smile and laugh without feeling that the makeup is going to peel off. The way Erica did the makeup, all the pictures and the video turned out great.
After the wedding, my whole family has become a huge fan of Erica's. First, my husband started getting his hair cut from Erica. Then, my sister went to Erica for new hair color and hair cut, and loves it. But the best was when I took my mother in law to Erica. My mom-in-law had not colored her hair in years and would not let anyone touch her hair. Erica worked her magic and not only cut her hair but colored it as well. My mom is so happy with her hair that she took a bunch of Erica's cards with her to distribute to other co-workers and friends. Now my mother in law drives two hours to get her hair cut from Erica. I would absolutely recommend Erica to anyone looking for help with hair and makeup. She is very professional and very very punctual. - P.D.
Erica Carr saved my wedding ......well at least my wife's sanity.
My wife and I got married about a month ago. It was the most stressful time in our lives, planning all of the food, where our guests would stay and how to make everyone happy without compromsing what we wanted. The hardest thing for my wife Lydia was to find someone to do her hair in this vintage style we both like. She kept coming home with one disaster after another until she found Erica.
I over heard a woman at my office saying how she had her makeup done by a woman right before a big date and how she just loved the girl who did it. I asked her for the name and contact information and I gave it to my wife. She didn't want a repeat of what she continued to get over and over.
We both went to see Erica for a brief visit before even booking. She offered to meet us and talk about our frustrations in finding a stylist. My wife was very apprehensive and I almost cancelled - I'm glad I didn't. My wife in the end got exactly the hair style she had continually tried to relay to the other 3 stylist sthat failed her. Her makeup was super natural, (like I prefer) but was strong enough to make our photos look incredible.
Erica came to the ceremony and made sure my wife and my mom looked the best they ever have pre and post ceremony. I had no idea what it takes to style a wedding - seeing her in action and how lovely my wife looked made me really appreciate having someone like her at our side. When my sisters home made upstyle started to fall ( I told her to go to Erica in the first place), Erica fixed it with no hesitation.
We invited her to stay for the reception, but she had another wedding to style and another bride to help. I don't know much about fashion or makeup, but what I do know is the we won't soon forget what Erica brought to our special day.
